Project Overview

Reviving a landmark at Rivington Chase

When Caddick Construction stepped in to revive the landmark Rivington Chase development in Horwich, they needed trusted partners capable of delivering excellence on a site steeped in industrial heritage. CLTK Joinery Services was appointed to deliver the full joinery package for the latest phase of the regeneration: 116 high-quality affordable homes built on the historic grounds of the former Horwich Loco Works.

As part of a £262 million masterplan the development not only supports local housing needs but also preserves the legacy of a site that once stood at the heart of Britain’s railway engineering industry.

The Challenge

The project brought several unique challenges to the CLTK team:

  • Heritage Sensitivity: Working on a site with deep historic significance required precision and respect for the local legacy.

  • Mixed Units: Delivering a consistent standard of joinery across both apartment blocks and family homes.

  • Speed of Delivery: Synchronising with Caddick’s construction timeline to avoid delays in a high-visibility regeneration scheme.

  • Volume and Scale: Executing large-scale joinery installations efficiently across 116 units.

  • Energy & Sustainability Focus: Meeting building performance standards in line with modern expectations for energy-efficient social housing.
